Upload data swipes
The Data Import portlet allows for attendance swipe data in the form of .csv files to be imported from student handhelds into the tdsstudent database. The portlet gives the user the ability to update the data source headers being used for csv files and displays single record error messaging to give feedback if there are any issues with the data to be uploaded. This portlet has the ability to select more than one csv file to upload at a time.
1. Select => Admin => Data Import
2. View data import
3. Select attendance swipes from entity type
The saved data mapping will display in the Map Data to TDS Fields section of the portlet.
4. Change column names to match csv file
This shows the TDS Field to Column Name mapping where the column name must be exactly the same as the headers in the csv file.
If all subsequent csv files will have the same headers use the Save Field Mapping button.
Note – this will save these column names for all users going forwards.
5. Click load data
6. Select csv file
7. Click Import
